Police Arrest Nine After Unapproved Kaplan Protest Blocks Traffic

Israeli police vehicles traveling on a Tel Aviv street

Police arrested nine people during a Saturday-night protest on Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv after demonstrators blocked the roadway. Police said the gathering had not been authorized or coordinated and that participants continued obstructing vehicles after officers warned them to clear the route. Tel Aviv District officers and Border Police then evacuated the demonstrators and reopened the street to traffic. Police said they would continue allowing lawful protest while acting against public-order violations, road blockages and conduct that endangers the public or other road users.
