Netanyahu Pledges Broad National Government and Deeper Unity

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged to deepen national unity and work to establish a broad national government in a video issued before the Tisha B'Av fast. He said Israelis had fought together over the past three years and prevented what he called the destruction of the 'Third Temple,' referring to the state. Netanyahu said election-season disagreements could obscure the country's underlying unity, but argued Israelis remain more united than they appear. He closed by invoking the lesson of baseless hatred and mutual love, saying that together, with God's help, Israel would secure its endurance.
