Former Kiryat Arba Mayor Eliyahu Libman Joins Noam for 2026 Election

Eliyahu Libman, a former Kiryat Arba council head, joined the religious-Zionist Noam party ahead of Israel’s October 27 election. Party chairman Avi Maoz welcomed Libman as a pioneering member of Noam’s new slate; Hebrew reports said he is expected to receive a leading list position. Libman previously served as security officer for Hebron’s Jewish community, holds the rank of lieutenant colonel in the reserves, and helped establish the Tikva Forum. His son Elyakim, a security guard at the Nova festival, was murdered during Hamas’s October 7 attack. Before entering party politics, Libman received the blessing of Rabbi David Abuhatzeira.
