Eisenkot Pledges to End Hamas Rule Within 18 Months if He Becomes Prime Minister

Yashar leader Gadi Eisenkot said that, if he becomes prime minister, he would end Hamas's rule in Gaza and dismantle its military wing within 18 months of taking office. Speaking on Israel's Gaza border on Thursday morning, he described two routes: President Donald Trump's framework or the use of military and operational capabilities. Eisenkot accused Benjamin Netanyahu's government of failing to turn military achievements into strategic gains. Likud challenged his ability to fulfill the pledge, questioning whether his potential political partners would allow him to act against Hamas.
