Security Officials Say Israel Killed 21 October 7 Terrorists Since June

Yagil Yaakov surrounded by captors during his abduction on October 7.

Israeli security officials said a joint command established after the October 7 massacre is still tracking terrorists who invaded southern Israel, abducted Israelis or held them in Gaza. They said Israel eliminated 21 people on that list in under two months since the start of June, including 11 tied to abductions or captivity and 10 who participated in the assault. Officials said the return of all hostages has expanded operational options by removing the risk that a strike could harm captives. A Southern Command official said every strike still requires intelligence, proportionality review and efforts to minimize harm to uninvolved civilians.
