IDF Kills Hamas Commander Who Raided Re'im Base on Oct. 7

The IDF said it struck southern Gaza on Thursday and killed Yahya Saeed Mohammed Hamdan, commander of a Nukhba Force cell in Hamas's military wing. The military said Hamdan raided the Re'im base, home of the Gaza Division headquarters, during the Oct. 7 massacre, and had recently advanced attacks on Israeli troops while trying to restore Hamas capabilities. The strike removes another Oct. 7 perpetrator from Hamas's rebuilding effort inside Gaza, where Israel says armed operatives continue to pose immediate threats despite the ceasefire framework. Israeli forces remain deployed to remove direct threats and prevent Hamas from rearming near Israeli communities.
