The IDF and Shin Bet said an airstrike in Gaza City killed Abd al-Rahim Abd al-Hai Yusuf Kurdi, a deputy Hamas military-wing cell commander who also worked as a doctor at Shifa Hospital. The agencies said Kurdi invaded Israel during the October 7 massacre and later held hostage survivor Romi Gonen in the Gaza Brigade area and at Shifa. They said he also held Cpl. Noa Marciano's body in Gaza City after her murder until Israeli forces recovered it. Kurdi had recently continued trying to advance attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians, according to the joint statement.
