Syria Bus Collision Kills 35 and Injures 30 on Damascus-Deir ez-Zor Road

Thirty-five people were killed and 30 injured when a civilian bus collided with a bus carrying Syrian Internal Security Forces personnel on the Damascus-Deir ez-Zor highway between Al-Sukhna and Palmyra, Syrian authorities said. The Defense Ministry sent helicopters to evacuate casualties to Homs Military Hospital. Civil Defense crews deployed from Palmyra and requested reinforcements from Deir ez-Zor. Ambulance teams and other authorities continued transporting injured people and recovering victims at the scene. The cause of the collision was not immediately known.
