A brush fire that spread into a field and stacked hay prompted authorities to close Route 7 and sections of Highway 6 near Sorek Interchange on Sunday. Fire and Rescue Services said the blaze advanced along the roadside. Police closed Route 7 before Sorek eastbound, Highway 6 before Sorek southbound, and Highway 6 before Sorek northbound, diverting traffic toward Route 7 westbound. Authorities did not immediately report casualties, and drivers were directed away from the area while firefighting and traffic-control operations continued.
