Helium Balloon Damages Rail Power at Ben Gurion Airport

A helium balloon contacted the electrification system at Ben Gurion Airport railway station Monday, producing several blasts and damaging an overhead power cable. Passengers were moved from the platform into the terminal, Platform 2 closed temporarily, and some trains stopped short or ran late. Israel Railways said the localized fault was under repair, trains were continuing to run, and the station had not been fully evacuated. Israel Hayom initially reported the station as evacuated and out of service, while airport check-in continued normally.
