Dr. Yifat Ben Hai Segev said Sunday night that she had returned her appointment as chair of the Second Authority Council to Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi and the government. She said she notified them about two hours before announcing the decision publicly. Ben Hai Segev said there was a limit to living in what she described as an absurd situation and that she would not cooperate with a distorted and abnormal reality. The council is the public body responsible for regulating Israel’s commercial television and regional radio broadcasters.
