Yesh Atid lawmaker Ron Katz submitted his resignation from the Knesset to Speaker Amir Ohana and said he will not contest the coming election. Katz said he filed immediately rather than wait for the recess to end because he did not believe he should continue drawing a public salary after deciding to begin a new chapter. He urged continued work for national unity and thanked party leader Yair Lapid, colleagues, staff and activists. Yesh Atid thanked Katz for years of public service, while Lapid described him as a veteran member and pillar of the party's field organization.
