Eshkol Leader Restates Hamas Disarmament Demand Before Gaza Rebuilding

Eshkol Regional Council head Michal Uziyahu called on the security cabinet not to advance a Gaza Board of Peace pilot before Hamas is disarmed. She said Gaza-border residents who paid the heaviest price on October 7 view the removal of Hamas’s military and governing capabilities as a basic security condition, not merely a diplomatic question. Uziyahu said she supports a stable future for the region but warned that reconstruction cannot rest on Hamas continuing to exist across the border. The Atid La’Otef movement separately demanded effective monitoring, Israeli freedom of security action and early warning against renewed terrorist buildup.
