Netanyahu Accuses Mamdani of Fomenting Hate and Dividing New Yorkers

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani of “fomenting hate” by calling for his arrest over the Gaza war and branding him a war criminal. Netanyahu said Mamdani was trying to turn New Yorkers against one another and warned that Jewish residents felt increasingly afraid to display their identity. He also linked Mamdani’s rhetoric to the climate surrounding last week’s stabbing outside a Manhattan synagogue, while investigators have not publicly tied the suspect’s motive to the mayor’s remarks. Netanyahu rejected the ICC charges as “bogus” and said he still intends to address the U.N. General Assembly in New York in September.
