U.S. Blockade Redirects 17 Ships, Disables Two and Boards Two

U.S. Central Command said its forces have redirected 17 commercial vessels, disabled two and boarded two while enforcing Washington's renewed blockade on Iranian ports. CENTCOM published the cumulative figures alongside an image of the USS Frank E. Petersen Jr. patrolling the Arabian Sea. The blockade targets traffic to or from Iranian ports, while U.S. officials say other regional shipping remains permitted. The update came as mediators sought to revive the U.S.-Iran interim ceasefire and Iran continued to assert control over passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
