Police Arrest Readiness-Squad Member Suspected in Huwara Assault

Israel Police arrested a man in his 20s from Samaria before dawn on suspicion of assaulting Palestinians in Huwara while wearing an IDF uniform. Investigators said he was not a soldier but a member of a Judea and Samaria community readiness squad, and had been sought for about a month. Detectives from the interagency Judea and Samaria command, Border Police officers and the Shin Bet made the arrest and seized an M16 rifle and pistol. Police said several suspects have been arrested and one participant has already been indicted over the assault.
