Amit Halevi Says Terror-Linked Teacher List Was Destroyed

Likud lawmaker Amit Halevi said a one-time cross-check of Education Ministry teachers against people investigated for supporting terrorism produced dozens of matches. He said the attorney general permitted the comparison only on condition that its results be destroyed and not used, and that a Shin Bet representative later told him the list had not led to action. Halevi made the claims while recounting his work on legislation enabling administrative dismissal of teachers who praise terrorism. The report did not include responses from the attorney general, Shin Bet or Education Ministry.
