Hamas Inclined to Accept Gaza Disarmament Proposal, Diplomat Says

An Arab diplomat says Hamas is inclined to accept the Board of Peace’s Gaza disarmament proposal, calculating that acceptance would shift the decision to Israel. Qatar, Egypt and Turkey have pressed the terrorist group to agree so it is not seen as blocking a deal. The diplomat said mediators believe Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government is unlikely to accept the plan before the October election because it would require an Israeli troop pullback from Gaza. Hamas has not yet formally accepted the proposal, and the report did not identify the diplomat.
