Israel Rejects Gaza Withdrawal Before Hamas Fully Disarms

An Israeli political source said Israel will not withdraw from the Gaza Strip’s yellow line before Hamas is fully disarmed and the territory is demilitarized. The source said the reported 15-point document does not satisfy Israel’s requirements and that reservations were conveyed to envoy Tony Blair. Talks mediated by Egypt, the United States and other actors are addressing Hamas’s weapons, Gaza’s postwar administration and security arrangements. Sources familiar with the negotiations said the framework under discussion would cover light and heavy weapons, tunnels, arms caches and weapons-production facilities.
