Dedi Simchi Says Likud Renewed Offers for a Reserved Slate Place

Retired brigadier general Dedi Simchi said he received renewed messages from Likud on Friday offering him a reserved place and other attractive positions on its Knesset slate. Simchi said he declined because he wants to force political unity and therefore joined Benny Gantz. In May, Simchi announced that he would contest the coming election but would not enter Likud's primary, while leaving open the possibility of a reserved placement. He later continued talks with Gantz and said no signed agreement had initially been reached.
