Gaza Residents Hope Hamas Will Disarm but Doubt Israeli Withdrawal

Palestinians interviewed across Gaza said Hamas's commitment to disarm offered some hope that fighting could end, but they remained skeptical that either Hamas or Israel would carry out the new roadmap. A displaced resident in southern Gaza said he wanted Hamas to surrender its weapons but saw no sign it would happen soon. Others said they doubted Israeli forces would withdraw, while an Israeli official said the IDF would not leave the current Yellow Line without Hamas's genuine disarmament.
