Islamic Jihad Says Gaza Roadmap Cannot Restrain Israel

Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Iran-backed terrorist organization, said Saturday morning that the new Gaza roadmap cannot restrain Israel, citing continued Israeli strikes after the phase-two text was announced. The group called on mediators and the Board of Peace to compel Israel to complete the first phase before further steps proceed. The roadmap assigns governance to a Palestinian technocratic body and sets a process for Hamas and other armed groups to surrender weapons. Hamas separately conditioned storing its heavy weapons on a halt to strikes, an IDF withdrawal, reconstruction and other demands.
