Javier Bardem Amplifies Baseless Claim Blaming Israel for Ceuta Crisis

Spanish actor Javier Bardem reposted material to his millions of Instagram followers on Saturday alleging Israel may have helped engineer the mass crossing into Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta. The posts portrayed the crisis as involving Israel, the United States and Morocco, while presenting no evidence for Israeli involvement. Spanish officials said about 50,000 people entered in 24 hours; a separate fact check placed the total near 60,000 and described the Israel theory as unsubstantiated. Moroccan security forces later used tear gas, batons and water cannons to disperse groups near the border.
