Hamas Reportedly Issues Personal Weapons to Operatives Amid Disarmament Plan

A Palestinian source said Hamas has begun distributing rifles to operatives in Gaza so the weapons can remain in their hands under the civilian designation of personal weapons. The source said the terrorist organization would not disarm, while the Board of Peace maintains that Hamas remains committed to the agreement reached with mediators. The reported 15-point framework calls for Hamas to halt military activity, recruitment and rearmament during the first two weeks before disarmament begins. Israel has said full demilitarization is a foundational condition for further implementation.
