Lebanese Army Retracts Israel Claim, Cites Suspicious Object

The Lebanese Army withdrew its initial claim that hostile Israeli action lightly wounded five soldiers in Kafra, in the Bint Jbeil district. In a follow-up statement, it said a specialist unit’s inspection found that the explosion was caused by a suspicious object and that efforts were continuing to determine the remaining details. The blast occurred while an army vehicle was escorting residents in the village. The correction removed the earlier attribution to Israel; no responsible party was identified in the official update.
