Anti-Draft Protesters Rally Outside Ma’alot Tzur Official’s Home

About 100 anti-draft protesters traveled in organized buses to Komemiyut and demonstrated outside the home of a Ma’alot Tzur official expected to lead the program after founder Rabbi Yaakov Aharon Farber’s death. The crowd chanted and distributed pashkevilim opposing the official and the program, which integrates Haredi men into IDF service through religiously adapted professional training. Reports differed over whether Hershi Lando had already become the program’s new head or was expected to assume the role. Farber founded Ma’alot Tzur almost two years ago, and the program says it has enlisted about 500 yeshiva students.
