An IDF soldier in basic training was severely wounded Tuesday night by gunfire at the Hasmoneans Brigade training base in the Jordan Valley. Initial findings indicated that the shooting involved an unintended discharge, and the wounded soldier was struck in the neck. He received medical treatment and was evacuated to a hospital; his family was notified. The Military Police opened an investigation into the circumstances, and the findings will be transferred to the Military Advocate General's Corps for review. The unit also paused training and reinforced weapons-safety procedures after the incident.
