IDF Officer Moderately Wounded in Accidental Shooting at Combat Engineering School

An IDF officer was moderately wounded by an accidental discharge at the Combat Engineering School in the Arava on Monday. The officer was evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment, and the officer's family was notified. The Military Investigative Police opened an investigation into the incident, and its findings will be transferred to the Military Prosecution when the inquiry concludes. The military did not disclose the officer's identity, the weapon involved, the officer's unit, the hospital, or whether anyone else was hurt.
