Gaza Officials Report 18 Killed as Israel Rejects Halt Deal

Palestinian medics reported at least 18 people killed as Israeli aircraft struck Gaza City, Deir al-Balah and the Khan Younis area for a second day. Energy Minister Eli Cohen said Israel had not agreed to halt operations and would give Hamas an opportunity to disarm, while doubting the terrorist group would comply. The IDF said its strikes targeted Hamas commanders, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative, an Army of Islam operative and other terrorists preparing attacks. Israel told Washington that implementation of the new disarmament roadmap should not proceed before Hamas verifiably lays down its weapons.
