Mladenov Asks Netanyahu to Halt Gaza Strikes for 14 Days

Board of Peace high representative Nickolay Mladenov asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to halt Israeli strikes in Gaza for 14 days to begin implementing the agreement with Hamas. Mladenov and senior adviser Aryeh Lightstone met Netanyahu on Monday, according to the reports. An Israeli source said Jerusalem does not believe Hamas will actually disarm and insists the IDF should withdraw only after the threat is removed. Israel also said its forces will hold their current line and continue acting against threats to Israeli civilians and troops while the diplomatic process continues.
