Smotrich and Strock Demand Halt to Gaza Stabilization Force Entry

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of Bezalel Smotrich and Orit Strock speaking closely together between the benches of the Knesset chamber.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Settlement and National Missions Minister Orit Strock asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reconvene the security cabinet and halt the International Stabilization Force's entry into Gaza. They said the Board of Peace roadmap differs materially from the framework ministers were shown and that the cabinet decision relied on incorrect information. Their letter argues that the published plan does not guarantee the removal or destruction of all weapons, starts a phased IDF withdrawal before demilitarization is complete, and assigns Gaza's law and verification mechanism to bodies the cabinet did not approve.
