El Al Doubles Second-Quarter Profit to $132 Million

El Al reported second-quarter revenue of $986 million, up 27% from a year earlier, while net profit doubled to $132 million. The airline said the final nine days of Operation Lion's Roar reduced quarterly profit by about $55 million, while jet-fuel costs rose sharply. Passenger capacity increased 9.2%, occupancy stayed near 90%, and the carrier's Ben Gurion Airport market share reached 50.2%. El Al also reported more than $2 billion in liquidity and said any renewed regional escalation could materially affect its outlook.
