Magen David Adom Warns Israel's National Blood Supply Is Running Low

Magen David Adom issued an urgent nationwide appeal after warning that the national blood bank's reserves are low and its refrigerators are emptying quickly. Its blood services need about 1,200 donors each day to supply hospitals and the IDF around the clock, while summer vacations and heat have reduced donations. The shortage affects cancer patients, women after complicated births, accident victims, wounded soldiers and other patients. MDA said one donation can help save up to three people and asked eligible Israelis to donate at stations across the country.
