IDF Force-Building Review Centers Autonomous Systems Across Three Domains

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir convened the General Staff for a force-building status review on Monday, placing robotics and autonomous systems at the center of planning for the air, ground and, in the future, maritime domains. The discussion ran about three and a half hours and examined capabilities and budgets for at least the next three years. Zamir also backed expanding the Multidimensional Unit as a technological engine for the military. The review covered new reserve formations, armored-vehicle procurement, fighter aircraft and accelerated robotic development with the Defense Ministry.
