Bomb in Minivan Taxi Kills Two in Druze-Majority Jaramana Outside Damascus

An explosive device planted in a minivan taxi detonated Thursday on a busy commercial street in Jaramana, a suburb southeast of Damascus, killing two people and wounding at least 13, according to Syria's Health Ministry. A security official quoted on state television identified the planted device as the cause, and no group claimed responsibility. Jaramana holds a large Druze population that has faced repeated friction with fighters aligned with the Islamist-led government of interim president Ahmad al-Sharaa. At least 10 people were killed there in sectarian clashes in April 2025, and this was the third apparent bombing in Syria in just over a month.
