Pro-Israel Rep. Ed Case Defeats Anti-Israel Challenger in Hawaii Primary

Democratic Rep. Ed Case defeated Hawaii state Sen. Jarrett Keohokalole in the party's primary for the state's 1st Congressional District. Case led 60% to 36% when the Associated Press called the race with about 80% counted, while Hawaii's official results showed a wide lead. Keohokalole conceded and called Case a good guy. He had campaigned to end U.S. military aid to Israel, while Case voted last month against a proposed ban on $3 billion in security assistance. The heavily Democratic district is expected to favor Case in November's general election.
