Israel Offers Colombia Aid After Magnitude 7.4 Earthquake

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar offered Colombia any assistance Israel can provide after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck the country’s west. Sa’ar told Colombian Foreign Minister Omar Bula that Israel was prepared to help as much as required. The quake was centered near San José del Palmar in Chocó, about 400 kilometers west of Bogotá, at a depth of roughly 107 kilometers. Colombian officials reported injuries and serious building damage, while shaking prompted evacuations in Colombia and neighboring Ecuador. Sa’ar said Israel was following the reports with concern and sent his thoughts and prayers to the Colombian people.
