Israeli Rescue Delegation Lands in Colombia After 7.4-Magnitude Earthquake

An 80-person Israeli search-and-rescue and humanitarian delegation landed Friday in Cali, Colombia, after the country's magnitude-7.4 earthquake. The “Alliance of Friends” mission brings IDF Home Front Command specialists together with Defense Ministry and Foreign Ministry personnel at Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella's request. An advance diplomatic team prepared the delegation's reception, while Foreign Ministry representative Alon Lavi and rescue-unit commander Brig. Gen. (res.) Yossi Pinto left to assess sites. Israel said the team brought specialized rescue equipment and would conduct search operations and distribute food and water.
