Netanyahu Orders Immediate Israeli Aid Delegation to Colombia

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the immediate dispatch of an Israeli aid delegation after Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella requested help following the country's magnitude-7.4 earthquake. The quake struck Colombia's coffee-growing region on Monday and killed at least 250 people, with multistory buildings collapsing in Pereira and Cali and part of Manizales's historic cathedral cracking apart. Police, soldiers, volunteers and emergency teams continued searching rubble for survivors. The mission follows a recent improvement in bilateral ties, including Colombia's recognition this week of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights.
