Bank Leumi Posts Record NIS 2.83 Billion Quarterly Profit

Bank Leumi reported net profit of NIS 2.832 billion for the second quarter of 2026, an 8.5% increase from NIS 2.610 billion a year earlier and a quarterly record for an Israeli bank. Return on equity rose to 16.3% from 16.2%. The board approved NIS 1.4 billion in distributions, equal to 50% of quarterly profit, comprising about NIS 1.1 billion in cash dividends and the balance in share buybacks. Net public credit grew 9% from the start of the year, while the bank said its efficiency ratio improved to 24.7%.
