Prison Service Allocates Holot Site for Israel’s First Pre-Police Academy

The Israel Prison Service has agreed to allocate part of the disused Holot complex for Israel's first pre-police academy, with administrative approvals now underway. The Gvili family, Prison Service, HaBithonistim and the World Zionist Organization inspected the site last week. Organizers plan a September 2027 opening cohort of 40 to 50 Jewish, Druze and Arab men and women preparing for Border Police command and combat roles. The academy will honor Staff Sgt. Rani Gvili; his father, Itzik, said it will teach his son's legacy and prepare participants for leadership and combat service.
