60 Bedouin Youths Complete IDF Preparatory Program

Sixty young Bedouin men completed a dedicated Haznak preparatory program during the past week ahead of expected enlistment in the IDF’s 585th Desert Reconnaissance Battalion. The course combined Hebrew-language study, daily physical training, heritage and national studies, and discussions of state symbols to address language and cultural gaps before basic training. A graduate said he sought meaningful service and now felt better prepared. The course operates through the IDF Manpower Directorate and Defense Ministry’s ‘Twelfth Year’ framework, which runs dozens of free programs for graduates of grades 11 and 12.
