USS Abraham Lincoln Sailors Reportedly Tried to Go Overboard During Iran Deployment

Multiple sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln reportedly tried to go overboard during a deployment lasting more than 250 days, including over 200 consecutive days without shore leave. The carrier, carrying roughly 5,000 sailors and Marines, was diverted to the Middle East before the February 28 U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran. Families and senators cited supply shortages, broken plumbing, 12- to 16-hour shifts, attempted suicides, and threats to jump. Senators Richard Blumenthal and Ruben Gallego sought answers and oversight; the U.S. Navy did not immediately respond to a request for comment, leaving the allegations unconfirmed.
