Poll Finds Two-Thirds of Americans Say Iran War Was Not Worth Fighting

A new national survey found about two-thirds of U.S. adults say the war with Iran has not been worthwhile, including most Democrats and independents and 37% of Republicans. The poll, conducted July 23-27 among 1,165 adults, found only 28% approve of President Donald Trump's handling of Iran, down from 34% in June. About 70% prioritize a permanent ceasefire and lower fuel prices, while roughly two-thirds rate preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon as highly important. Four in ten say preventing Iran from threatening Israel is a high U.S. priority.
