The IDF said it killed Abu Hassan Alaa, a senior commander in Hezbollah’s Badr Unit, in a strike in Deir ez-Zahrania on Saturday. According to the military, Alaa directed numerous attacks on troops in the Security Zone, including explosive-drone launches from southern Lebanon, and commanded several Hezbollah combat sectors targeting Israeli soldiers and civilians. The IDF said the strike responded to Hezbollah’s attack that wounded an officer and two soldiers. It said Alaa’s elimination significantly damaged the unit’s command capability.
