The United States accepted Israel’s explanation for its strikes in Lebanon after Hezbollah attacked IDF troops at Ali al-Taher Ridge, Haaretz reported. The IDF said it struck Hezbollah infrastructure in Nabatieh and Ansar after the attack, eliminating Radwan Force battalion commander Ali Samir Al-Haj Hassan and additional terrorists involved in advancing attacks. The military said Hassan’s family was inside the military headquarters and was harmed but was not targeted. U.S. envoys arriving in Israel this week are expected to press Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on other regional fronts and ask Israel not to obstruct further diplomatic initiatives.
