Likud Members Vote in Knesset Primary to Set the Party Slate

Likud members vote on Monday to set the party's candidate slate for the 26th Knesset, with about 140,000 registered members eligible to choose among 121 candidates. Polling stations open at 10:00 and close at 21:00, with roughly 80 sites operating around the country. Benjamin Netanyahu holds a bloc of reserved slots spread through the top of the list, narrowing the places open to the rest of the field. Likud has been polling at 22 to 24 seats against the 32 it currently holds, leaving fewer realistic places than its sitting ministers and members now occupy. Initial results are due on August 20, with appeals running to August 23.
