Erdogan Urges Trump to Keep Iran Talks Going, Claims Israeli Actions on Palestinians Rose

Turkey's Communications Directorate said President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone call with U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday evening covering bilateral ties and regional developments. According to the Turkish readout, Erdogan told Trump it was important to make maximum use of diplomacy in the tension between Iran and the United States, hoped those talks would continue, and pledged continued Turkish support for peace efforts. Erdogan also said the joint defense agreement Turkey signed with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia showed a strong stance on regional stability. He claimed the Israeli administration's actions targeting Palestinians had increased as the Gaza peace process approaches its second phase.
