Netanyahu Ties Gaza Rebuild to Hamas Disarmament, Denies Lebanon Limit

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said after Sunday's cabinet meeting that Gaza will not be rebuilt before Hamas is dismantled and the Strip is demilitarized. Responding to reports that the U.S.-led Peace Council may move ahead in IDF-held areas, Netanyahu said Gazans who wish to leave should be free to do so and that Israel has created a new buffer inside Gaza. He also denied reports that President Donald Trump asked Israel to stop action against Hezbollah terror tunnels in Lebanon. Israel should keep civilian relief tied to verifiable disarmament and freedom of action against terror infrastructure.
