Interior Ministry Grants Settlement Symbols to Karmi Oz and Sahlav in Judea and Samaria

The Interior Ministry granted official settlement symbols to Karmi Oz in Mateh Binyamin and to Sahlav in Samaria, formally establishing both communities. The symbol is the state's mark of recognition across every ministry, unlocking mail delivery, permanent water hookups and funded municipal staff positions. Karmi Oz, known for years as Givat Harel, completes its regularization 28 years after its founding, while Sahlav, declared a new settlement by the cabinet in December 2025, is slated for a city of about 4,500 dunams. Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth signed the two communities' jurisdictional boundaries, and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said 39 settlement symbols have been granted in about half a year.
